DAWN RECORDING 1st September 2001
Capertee Valley, New South Wales, Australia, altitude 380 metres, dry
woodland habitat, 5.45 AM (half an hour before sunrise), heavy overcast
before rain, calm, 6 degrees celsius. Sony TCD D10 Pro DAT recorder and
Sennheiser ME67 mono gun microphone. Position 33 degrees 07 minutes 21
seconds SOUTH; 150 degrees, 08 minutes, 29 seconds EAST.
Species: (birds) Eastern Yellow Robin 'chew-chew' call in foreground;
Fantailed Cuckoo soft trill in background; Laughing Kookaburras in
background.

DUSK RECORDING 1st September 2001
Capertee Valley, New South Wales, Australia, altitude 380 metres, farm dam
(water) with bullrushes, grassland and scattered trees, 5.41 PM (10 minutes
after sunset), clearing sky with full moon, calm, 12 degrees celsius. Sony
TCD D10 Pro DAT recorder and Sennheiser ME67 mono gun microphone. Position
33 deg. 08 min. 07 sec SOUTH; 150 deg 07 min 56 sec. EAST.
Species: (birds) small flock of Plum-headed Finches in foreground giving
'tew' calls; Pallid Cuckoo rising call in far background; Australian Raven
wailing call in flight; Superb Blue Fairy-wren trill in foreground; in far
background are Australian Magpies in song and a single 'cholock' call from a
Noisy Friarbird. (frogs) Spotted Marsh Frog "rat-a-tat" call; and an
Eastern Brown Froglet gives a single croak right at the end.
